Hello Neal,
We were so relieved to see your ad in Catering Magazine. We had
lost track of your company and desperately needed more of your
great chafing dishes. Our first set of 6 was purchased in 1998 and
they are still in use on a regular basis. Attached is our order
for more chafers.
The units are so durable and
versatile that our crew has found multiple uses for them. Our
bartenders use them as ice troughs, or to chill and serve liquor
and soft drinks. Our cooks use them in the field kitchens as
holding units before food goes out on a buffet, or to serve from
for a full service dinner. And of course we use them as chafing
dishes for all outdoor events; the wind proof design helps hold
the heat to insure proper food temperature. They are also great
for maintaining the chill on cold items or salad bars. Each unit
is well build enough that after parties our crew uses them to pack
up supplies in and transport items back to our facility
Thanks for designing such a
valuable product for caterers.

Mr., Katz,
I was so excited to hear that you had taken back the manufacturing
and distribution of the Chafer Shield. I presently own about 40 or
50 of your units and use them constantly especially when doing
outdoor events. Some of my units are still the original ones that
I purchased from you about 9 or 10 years ago. These units are
indistinguishable from other units that were purchased much more
recently. My units are white and cleanup to look like new every
time with a minimum of effort even after coming back from an event
and sitting in the back of a truck for a day or two. Whenever I
have had a fire inspector question their fire retardancy, they
have always been astonished when I demonstrate how flame proof
they are. They have been dropped off the back of trucks, stepped
on, used as stepping stools, and had God only knows what fall on
stacks of them when somebody didn't properly load and secure
everything in the back of an event truck. Unlike most of the rest
of my equipment, even the most improper handling that can be
subjected to catering equipment by a dog tired crew at the end of
a 15 hour event, there appears to be no way to damage or break
them. Keep up the good work and maybe more manufacturers will
start to follow your lead!
